When protecting "Intellectual Property," often including research that is funded by the government, is more important than educating public about causes of violence, there are serious problems with our priorities! It is also a major threat to Democracy when a fraction of 1% or the public control over 90% of media & use "Intelectual Property" laws to regulate the rest!
