This guy is probably bullet-proof. And has made some of the best Rock 'N Roll out there. I hope he lives forever - and keeps on crankin' out the tunes. :-)

I know it's a Jethro Tull reference, but "You're never too old to rock and roll if you're too young to die" :)

Yep, I like Tull also. I heard they had something to do with Jimi Hendrix getting famous, but it was too long ago... and I was probably Thick As a Brick.

When recording the guitar lead for Aqualung, Martin Barre looked up and saw Jimmy Page waving from the studio window. He had the choice to wave back, or to continue on without missing a beat. He chose to ignore Jimmy and improvised the version we've heard all these years. I'm sure they both laughed about it later over a couple pints (and lines), but I'm glad he chose wisely. :-)

The Isley Brothers were in town over the summer and Ernie Isley was on a local radio talk show. He told the story of how he and his brothers put Jimi Hendrix up at their mother's house before he was famous. I'd love to provide more details, but the radio has to compete with compressors and chop saws so I'm lucky I was even able to hear that much :)

Before Jimi Hendrix was famous, he was doing the same stuff, but in other people's bands, and they didn't appreciate it. I read once someone had thrown his guitar out of a moving vehicle. I'll bet there were NO drugs involved. None at all. ;-)

Jimi was born and grew up in this neck of the woods and is buried not far from here. The recently deceased Paul Allen named his rock and roll museum The Experience Music Project (EMP), but for some reason they changed the name to MoPOP. Anyway, if you're ever in Seattle it one of the few things worth seeing. :)

OK, I'll check it out if I ever go to Seattle.

I did see a burnt and destroyed Stratocaster he killed during a performance. It was in a guitar museum years ago. I think it might have been from the Berkley show, but it's been so long I can't verify the venue. It was sealed under glass, and must be worth a fortune. The owner was tweaking my guitar at the time, that's how I got to see it. :-)
