Back in the day, I had the ability to close spreadsheets remotely when idiots would do this!

So frustrating! lol

The file is in a shared network location. If one person opens it, then it locks out everyone else from making any modifications to it. So... the boss wants me to modify it, but he still has it open and has left for the day... so I can't do crap unless I reboot his machine (which will release the file), and I'll probably get in trouble for that because he most likely also has other files open that he didn't bother saving so he'll lose that data too. LOL Is it clear as mud now? :-)

WE had a document management system in place and we bitched about these idiots so much, they gave me access at the end of the day, just so I would stop calling them up :-)

The supervisor has reached his level of incompetence, and will probably not be promoted any further. Unfortunately, since he is incompetent, the employees working under him will probably not be promoted any further, even though they *are* competent, unless they are promoted by someone on the same level or higher up than the supervisor. Which may or may not be a good thing, depending on their individual levels of competence.
