I've always kept up with my state and county candidates. Government, in theory, is facinating. It only works if the people allow it by following imaginary rules. The second people start paying attention to what's been really going on governments crash. The generation with the power to make the biggest changes, now, are trapped in their own little selfie world and think government doesn't really have anything to do with them. It should get pretty interesting. Everywhere I go I see different media techniques being used to get everyone to vote in November. It does seem to be an important vote, though they all are just as important as the next. I don't think they'll be a blue wave, or a red one for that matter. I still think most people just don't care. Anonymity online allows people to vent their frustrations but it's my bet most of it comes from unregistered voters. I wish I didn't care.
I can see where casinos could be considered all the same but wouldn't that be a police problem, not a governor problem? Now I'll show my ignorance about casinos. I was under the impression most casinos were still Indian owned. Other than Vegas the only ones I knew of were in Cali. I've never had enough money to just hand it over to someone for fun. I play the lottery once a year on my birthday. Lol!
I've been to votesmart and several others. I've been caught off guard twice in my life and both times it ended badly so I am the kind of person that wants ALL the information. Even all the lies and negativity tell you something about a camp.
Where I live it's all republican. There are good people here but absolutely zero diversity. The racism isn't out in the open like in Texas where I grew up. Oh, no. It's subtle and it drives me insane. There isn't anyone local I want to vote for. I also don't want to just throw away my vote. So I have to decide whether I want to even be a part of the whole mess anymore. No one is worth voting for.
I'm very happy to hear you know how important it is not to just listen to the junk being shoved down everyone's throats. I fear the masses just vote party or vote for whichever candidate shakes their hand at a parade or has the biggest billboard.
Either way you choose to cast your ballot I hope the winners do good things for your state. I don't know if anyone running in Federal government positions will ever help us. Pretty sure they think their job is to get as much tax payer money in their pockets as possible.
