Grumpy Cat Meme | OMG THE CITY YESTERDAY WAS HORRIBLE. | image tagged in memes, grumpy cat | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Yesterday consisted of rude phone calls not answering my questions, and being given the run around until the beginning of the city council meeting last night. Resulting in me having to write and rewrite until the end of closed session.
But I got it all done, and they didn't seem very happy with what I had to say. :)
Just another example of how the city government tries relentlessly to put the residents at a disadvantage.
(sigh)

THAT'S CRAAAZY | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I'm sorry they made your day miserable. :( It seems like most city leaders do things for their own benefit and not the deserving citizens. Most places hold their meetings during the day when the people that work and support the community can't attend. Then again people complain about the way the city is run and keep electing the same stupid crooks over and over. Lol. Glad your trying to keep your officials on their toes. :)

Just last night the city manager came in and tried to influence what I was going to say in my presentation for his evaluation. But I hadn't even included it this time.
And on your comment about the same people being voted into office time and time again. What I've noticed in my participation of the political chaos is
the residents votes are manipulated and voided by the votes of the people who own business' and are employed in the city. Because the cities claim that they have a stake in what happens in the city. But in our city by the overdevelopment the number of business' and employees far out number the number of residents. As well as in California letting people here illegally vote in elections further watering down the resident's votes. Does that help?
I try. It doesn't always work, but then I just put it on record at city council meetings, and see who else can relate.

More people should choose to stand up to this nonsense going on in our cities. There should be more people addressing these issues with you. I don't know this for a fact but it appears that the west coast is too far gone to ever be anything resembling the American Way. All i know about that is what the media tells me. Lol. Keep smiling and fighting. :)

The resident in my city have done a referendum and stopped a major development, and this election cycle have something on the ballot to limit the city council to twelve years on the council. In addition to a board member from my friends neighborhood group presently being in court fighting the city for district voting. Which our city being the only one resisting and spending over seven million dollars fighting it, which is technically a conflict of interest for our city council.
So I think we're making progress. :)
Please remember the media is in it for their own interest, and like the city manager spews well scripted and rehearsed propaganda, from the city council. The same comes from the people who own and run the media stations. Or another example would be they go the way their donors do, with either entity.
