And speaking of doo doo, here's a little more Trek turds.
Since I've been away lately, I'll try to make up for it in quantity. ;-)
On TNG, Gates McFadden (DR. Crusher) was vocal about some gender related issues (she's a feminist). She was fired and they replaced her with Diana Muldaur as DR. Pulaski, who I mentioned recently. I think you can see her in the Picard WTF template, in blue, standing to the left of Worf in the background. She was terrific, and could actually act, so they replaced her in season three with Gates McFadden again for the rest of the series.
When asked about TOS at a convention, McFadden said she couldn't answer any questions because she never watched it.
Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar) left TNG after the first season to go onto bigger and better things. I think she was in the movie Pet Cemetery with Fred Gwynn (Herman Munster) then did twos cameo on TNG. In the first cameo, she appeared on the bridge like she hadn't left a few seasons ago, in an alternate timeline and was beamed over to Enterprise C (which was lost in battle decades ago) when it's captain was killed on her bridge while fighting Romulans. Enterprise D and Enterprise C were battling the Romulans to restore the timeline. The ship was presumed destroyed in a time vortex.
In her second cameo she played Yar's daughter. It was revealed that Enterprise C was not destroyed, but captured by the Romulans. Yar umm... bred with a Romulan so her daughter was a mix of the two. After this episode I never heard of Crosby's career again, although she may have done something bigger and better than Trek.
Will Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) was written off the show in season 4 because people hated Wesley. The term 'Mary Sue was invented for his character.
Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) complained about Troi's emphatic, whiny lines and didn't want to continue whining. They didn't know how to write her character so they made her the ship's counselor and gave her even less to do. She said the one time they "gave her the keys to the Enterprise", she crashed the ship. She also said they threatened to fire her twice.
Last week Sirtis said she won't watch ST Discovery because she refuses to pay to see Star Trek. And she callled CBS "Demented".
Yesterday in the news, CBS forced a virtual (software based) tour of Enterprise D to cease and desist, even though no money was being made from it. You would just roam the corridors and rooms. But nope.
OK, that's it for now. Catch you later... :-)
