I'm not trying to be controversial but check your stats, more blacks killed by black cops than white cops. More blacks are murdered by other blacks than by whites. This is horrible, and it's not (or shouldn't be) a race issue, this is a moral and character issue that affects us all. If anyone is drawn into thug culture, for money or fear of violence if they reject that lifestyle, as a nation we have to stop that. When innocent bystanders are shot, we have to do more to protect the innocent. The adage that when seconds count the Police are minutes away isn't all that funny, and an incessant attack on police in general for the horrendous deeds of a small number of their ranks has resulted in less police presence in dangerous neighborhoods. We can't let the thugs win and destroy the hope and promise of our youth, no matter what their "race". Can't we all just be Americans first, carry on our responsibilities as citizens to perfect the concepts of equal justice under the law, all people are created equal (but that doesn't guarantee equal results), that we are endowed by our creator with unalienable rights to life, liberty (that presumes responsibility) and the pursuit of happiness. The American experiment is ongoing, does not tolerate laxity or laziness in striving for it's ideals and will devolve to the tyranny it sought to displace if the citizens passively do not work to build, rather than to tear down. Black lives matter has destroyed minority owned businesses, has disrupted minority communities and encouraged a complete distrust in the systems that protect free societies. We can and must fight injustice in a unified fashion. Division created by race, color or creed serves no one. When someone like Kanye meets with someone like Trump to address the problems, the personal attacks (token black, when Negroes don't read- accusations thrown by black commentators) have to stop and we have to unify around what is best for everyone. Thanks for letting me rant.
