But That's None Of My Business Meme | I DRASTICALLY REDUCED MY SUGAR INTAKE WAS WAY EASIER THAN I EVER THOUGHT | image tagged in memes, but thats none of my business, kermit the frog | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I was sugar addicted for years. Not so much carbs, but sugar. I'd drink up to three liters of soda a day, plus super sweet tea and other sweets. But close to a year ago I realized I was killing myself, so I started by limiting myself to one 12 oz can of soda a day. After just a few days I found it pretty easy, then even started skipping it altogether some days. Now I find it's almost too sweet and I don't crave it nearly as much. I also have cut the sugar in my tea and eating fewer sweets, and I really find most stuff too sweet now and just want a small amount or none. It's amazing how fast habits and cravings can change. I've lost some weight and generally don't feel as sick now.

I don’t eat much sugar but I do love anything chocolate. Yeah, too much sugar is bad for just about anyone. Diabetes is one of the worst things I see as a nurse. My mother-in-law is almost blind because of diabetes-sad :(
Good for you JB-keep up the good work:)

My wife has type two diabetes. I knew I was going to develop it if I didn't cut back. I still fear I may end up with it because I was addicted for so long, and chronic stress and anxiety is taking its toll on me. But hopefully I made the sugar change soon enough. I do love chocolate and still eat it. Just not nearly as much or as often.

Diet is probably the most important and I believe that exercise is next. If you could walk several times a week that would help a lot plus help with stress-you didn’t ask so I hope I’m not out of line:)

Not at all. Advice is always appreciated. Yeah I know the exercise helps a ton. I've always been active and get a fair amount of exercise from work. But I definitely need more cardio. Back around 2008 I went through a long process of trying to enlist in the Marine Corps (long story) and started running, swimming, and doing pushups and crunches and got in the best shape of my life. And the running made a huge difference in how I felt. But after enlistment fell through I lost motivation and have never gotten back into it. I really need to though. I do get in a lot of walking and standing at work at least.

Cutting out too much for too long equates to failure too often. Just speaking from personal experience. Decide which days you are more likely to want higher carbs. The week end perhaps? Maybe one day in the middle of the week and one day at the end? Do't go too low or you will feel punished. I found it helpful to do a gradual decrease from Monday To Sunday. It helps when you have room to breathe.,

Eat high carb breakfasts, add granola and oatmeal early. Eat less carbs later in the day and don’t resist fats. Boom. You’ll be amazed.

That could depend on how carbs affect the individual. For me they were better later in the day because they made me sleepy and hungry. Oatmeal for breakfast left me feeling ravenous no matter what I had along with it. Trial and error is always a good idea.

Crazy. I eat oatmeal or granola in the a.m. and it kills appetite better than anything. Then limit carbs at night and get leaner in just a few days. Over a few weeks it’s really noticeable. Otherwise, when oatmeal doesn’t work, cheese and triscuit crackers, or cheese and apple wedges. That’s the next best appetite killer for me. Say 3-4oz of cheddar with either triscuits or 8 big Apple wedges.

Now an apple is very satiating. Though I would have it more around lunch. But yeah. The carb thing is so strange. A real appetite trigger.
