I usually catch the tree on the first cast, then scare all the fish away, and a few people, yanking half the tree down :-)

Yeah, my other favourite is to get one of my $30 lures snagged and then scare the fish away using my lure retriever to get it back again :-)

Thing casts like a rocket, but I have it on 10 pound mono that lets me rattle the piss out of the tree :-)

Nice, we don't get many of the Heddon lures over here, I have a couple of mini torpedos I use on trout. This is where I'm targeting fish at the moment, nerve wracking stuff, so many underwater snags.

Black bream on a Fish Arrow plastic minnow, rigged weedless - put up a hell of a fight nearly dragged me back into the sunken timber. On 4lb braid with a 6lb leader :-) A good day...

Wow! I never catch them that size.
But the ones I do catch fight like hell! I’d love to catch ones like you do. On more open water, or when I can position the boat offshore from the snags, I’d love to use my fly rod for the bream :-)
