We live near a football stadium and I knew a fly past was coming. My wife was smoking in our garage and she thought the house was coming down. They haven't done one like that again.
I went there once and they didn't dare hit military thrust (100% throttle) because the windows around the river would have all blown out. Yeah, it's fun, but it can do some damage too
mahobeachcam.com has a live feed of passenger jets landing and taking off. It's in St. Maarten. They warn people on the beach of the jet blast. I believe someone was killed there recently. I don't think 747's land there anymore. They would come to the very end of the runway which is close to the beach.
