I assume this is where you got the $2.8 T number (http://www.investmentwatchblog.com/californias-total-state-and-local-debt-totals-1-3-trillion/) - I hope you have a more credible source than this.

I'll grant you the "highest poverty rate" stat https://www.census.gov/prod/2012pubs/p60-244.pdf); it's not the whole picture, but it is a worthy measure of poverty.

Still not finding anything that adjusts CA's economy status for cost of living, because again, the two things are not at all the same.

world's 6th largest economy = true
37th ranked economy after COL adjustment = false (no such metric exists, as economy and household income are not in any way the same thing)
highest US poverty rate at 23.5% = false (that number is CA's Supplemental Poverty Measure, just one factor in measuring overall poverty)
$2.8 trillion debt = false (all the states combined don't have even half that much debt - CA's debt is $153.6 billion)

Actual statistics:
cost of living = 37th in US
overall poverty rate = 35th in US
total debt = 1st in US
debt per capita = 14th in US

If you're going to bemoan the financial state of California, at least use accurate numbers. Then again, this is Trump's America, so sure, go ahead and say whatever, nothing matters.
