I think we both agree that the deaths of people from gun violence are horrific. But I don't think it's so simple as to point a finger at one or the other. It's a deep-seated problem that both parties and our system have contributed to, and it's intertwined with other problems like poverty. I think we can agree that gun laws are failing Chicago because it's so easy to get guns in there in spite of them, but not the conclusion that gun laws elsewhere aren't working. I will agree that the Democratic Party in Chicago has been corrupt for almost a century. My mother grew up there. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, and the extremism on both sides disturbs me, and I don't think improvement will ever come if people keep pointing fingers, which is the point I see you making as well. We all want fewer people to die of violence, and work toward a better future for those boys in the picture and their neighborhoods.
