Not for no reason. Oceeeans are plagued with plastics, straws being no7 most found inside sealife and along shore lines, I live on the west coast of Canada and they are starting to phase them out there aswell. It's an environmental thing. And if you're upset about losing straws, maybe grow up and drink like an adult or use both hands

Right you are, your comment gets an upvote from me. Litterbugs created this mess by carelessly discarding straws and other plastics in our waters and shores. If they absolutely have to have straws, they can use paper ones. Like straws used to be made of. Maybe paper straws will make a comeback. Of course, idiots will still litter, but paper is less of a hazard than plastic. Paper eventually degrades, especially in water, but plastics last decades, if not centuries.

I just moved to the coast and amm becoming more aware and conscience of the impact, seeing the tons of plastics picked up by BC Ferries and the shore line clean up. We have adopt a highway initiatives all across both countries, we need adopt a shoreline projects. Whenever we're on the ocean we pick up whatever we find floating, I'm allways doing it on golf courses when I'm out playing, waterbottles, gaterade, beer cans, chip bags. F**k people, it's not hard, there's garbage and recycle bins at every tee box.
