I knew you would get it. Did you notice that this actor is noticeably different from the Pike in the chair. I guess he was busy on another television show at the time. That's why Sulu was missing for half of the second season and they brought in Checkov. :-)

Yeah, I'm sure youknow this, but I did a little research and found out that they filmed "The Cage" as a pilot, but it never aired. Once the Shatner version was up and running they had to figure out what to do with the pilot and they brilliantly spliced it into "The Menagerie"

Yup, it was labeled "too cerebral" by the studio execs. Later, the producers were desperate for material, so they did the mash-up just to air an episode. :-)

Every other country on Earth gets it on Netflix. U.S. residents require an additional subscription. A cash grab, and I refuse to pay. I read about the episodes after they air.

Spock will be in this season (2) but we don't know in what form. Could be a child in flashbacks (he's half-brother to the main character - Sarek was the father of both). Might be Spock from the reboot movies, or someone else. Big mystery. ;-p
