It was satyrical. Of course, Mr. Carlin most certainly has a point, but it is better to try to make your voice heard by voting instead of simply not voting, then complaining about it.

I say vote, but vote for who you want in office and don't settle for someone more likely to win, but more corrupt and subservient to the system.

That's just my opinion.

This is how I see elections:
Election day:"Man,this president sucked.We should vote for another guy! I'm sure he'll make everything better!"
*a new guy gets elected*
"Yaaaaaaay! This guy will lead our country into a golden age!"
Next election day:"Man,this president sucked.We should vote for another guy! I'm sure he'll make everything better!"
And the cycle repeats,repeats,and repeats

Vote for who I want in the office,huh? That seems to make sense,but what if I don't want anyone in the office? How do I vote for that? I don't want anyone to rule me,I can rule myself good enough.At what point in history did humankind say:"Okay,everyone,most of us are incapable to control ourselves,so we'll just have a few guys telling us what we can and what we can't do.Oh,and we'll also give them some money we earn every month,because reasons" Just like Lemmy Kilmister said:"People should learn to rule themselves.Government causes more problems than it solves"
