Texting While Trotting

You know I read a news article a while back about someone getting a dui for riding their horse home while shitfaced. Didn't make any sense to me seeing as how the horse isn't drunk, is completely capable of getting around, and knows the way home.

Well the reason why texting while trotting is dangerous anyway is because horses are very nervous animals and if they get scared at something and you are distracted/drunk, you will go flying into space

Ah, that makes sense. So more for keeping the rider safe really than a public safety issue. Though I guess a spooked horse could be a bad time for someone on foot nearby too, so.. point taken lol

"Texting While Trotting" is an actual problem, although it's safer than texting while driving, because the horse is watching the road for you. Many times I would have crashed into a tree or something were it not for the horse I was riding (I was not texting, by the way I was just not paying attention)
