I've worked with those who have severe autism back when autism was autism and not a social media fad for youth. Lucky if they could hand sign for bathroom, water, and food, let alone talk, type, or read. Or use ethnic slurs.
Well my bad then, as I go back to before when Asperger's was described, so severe was "low functioning" (a term I found a bit ouch-ish).
A site I used to frequent had loads in their 20s who always claimed ASD, so I tend to react negatively when I hear talk about it since back then.
