Know how old he is? Eighteen. ;-)

But he was once a Billion Dollar Baby.

This guy could write 'em. And he's still out there, too.

I am VERY fond of his hit "You and Me". Light Side Al.

The original 'chicken rumor' blasted them into fame and fortune. I heard a band member (either him or the guitar player - I forget) say someone brought a live chicken to a show - a rural gig, and it wound up on an amplifier. The thing freaked out and died of a heart attack.

So they got a "reputation" and several variations on the chicken story (one was NSFW). Crowd sizes skyrocketed because it generated more interest than the great music alone. This one event gave the band the exposure they needed to become the legend we know today.

He had a radio DJ gig recently. Not sure if he's still at it. But he's still making music and rocking out as always.

The last time we saw Alice was right before the 2016 election (I got an "Elected" shirt) and after the show we got some food and our order number was 666...I thought I was being punked. We wanted to see him last year playing with Deep Purple, but the closest he played was Las Vegas so we decided against it. This fall he is playing Everett and we have row 1 tickets 3 seats away from center stage!!! The package includes getting to go on stage before the show with photo ops (I get to have my picture taken with my head in the guillotine!) and a backstage meet and greet (I will do everything in my power not to drop to my knees and say, "I'm not worthy!). I saw a list on Ultimate Classic Rock awhile back that had "Generation Landslide" as one of rock's most underappreciated songs, but I think my favorite is still No More Mr. Nice Guy (that's usually about the third song in the set). Toward the end of the show he will uncover headstones and sing a tribute for each stone (they've included John Lennon, Keith Moon, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Lemmy etc.). The encore is generally a mash-up of "School's Out" and "Another Brick In The Wall" which are a perfect fit (it's easy to find on YouTube)...what a great show!!! (Also he just played Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar on Easter)

Wait, where do I start? I'm like, "WTF"?

OK, first off I'm jealous of your upcoming decapitation tour. Holy sh!t - that rocks! I hope you'l paste a few pix together for a comment response or even *a meme*. I did it with a recent Meatloaf show (imgflip.com/i/27xts5).

And next up I have to thank you for the killer Cooper show info. And the YouTube suggestion. I enjoyed it very much - and so did the audience!

The gal on guitar is Orianthi. She's played guitar for a lot of famous people - including Michael Jackson. A real shredder there - and a treat to behold.

You should probably laminate that receipt and frame it. But first bring it to the show and have it autographed by Alice. THEN laminate it. ;-)

What a showman. He's still got it after all these years. And the energy, wow!

So when is the show? I can't wait, and I'm not even going! Waiting on those pictures, though...

Awesome Meatloaf pics! We're you front row? Orianthi played with him the first time we saw him (and she kicked butt), but the last time it was Nita Strauss (and she kicked butt too). I caught a guitar pick from one of the other guitarists (okay, so it actually bounced off my chest and landed in front of me). I did not realize that that receipt has been in my wallet since 2016 and now all the ink has worn off (but the 666 is still as dark as ever). I'm pretty sure the show is August 19th and I'm so looking forward to it...he really is a fantastic showman.

Hi bt,

Thanks for the compliment on the Meatloaf pictures. I was in the second row and wound up with FOUR of his guitar picks. I was scheduled to go backstage but he is having major health issues and was unable to stand after his amazing, all-out performance.

We had arranged to go backstage after the show, but fate had different plans. Got to give this guy credit for hitting the performance with 100 percent and obvious health issues. You couldn't tell from his voice - and the two guitars made it a bit more metal than the records. The energy level was intense for the performers and audience.

And then he actually turned it up a few notches. In Paradise By the Dashboard Light he ripped the college sweater off that woman exposing the goods you saw in the photos. After that, the show was mostly screaming and dancing and singing along from the audience. Magic moments for everyone there, especially considering the condition Meatloaf was in.

If you noticed his facial expressions in the duet pictures, you'll realize he's also an accomplished actor. You probably remember him from Rocky Horror. Much of the concert he was performing as The Rock Legend - I have a lot of other pictures of him in classic Rock 'N Roll poses while the band backed him up.

He did a lot from the Bat Out of Hell albums (all three), and everything you've ever heard from the band. I even heard a few that were new to me.

I expect he won't last long, which is a shame. At least he's going out doing what he loves. We should all be so lucky.

That's awesome! He was also the star of a film called "Roadie" in which he was chasing after the actress that played Wendy in "Porkies", but she was too busy lusting after...........wait for it...........Alice Cooper. It had a great soundtrack including 'Everything Works If You Let It" by Cheap Trick. :)

Great info - I hadn't heard of the movie (or song).

Btw, your picture of the' Why you no' guy as Alice Cooper is tremendous. The eyes, the hat - everything.

I liked the hat when I saw him on YouTube the other day. Right away you know you're in for a good time when he walks out on stage. Me really is a great showman. Like when he let the audience sing the Pink Floyd part at the end of the song. He sucks the audience right in to the song and the show. Mister Nice Guy!

Anyway, I thought I was about to hit the comment text limit (again), so I waited for today to spill the beans on the picture. :-)

Here's the template if you want it...it might come in handy sometime for a comment or reply or you might come up with some awesome text, or you may never use it, but it doesn't hurt to have it.
