I believe it was a 'pretend' fued with Lynyrd Skynyrd. They responded with Sweet Home Alabama.

Even the guitar solo was a poke at Mr. Young, played in his style.

I grew up on that song, lol. But yeah, I'll do that, thanks. And I heard one of the band members came out some time back saying they were friends with Young. All the same, the southern stereotypes in the lyrics along with Young's painful singing makes it a difficult one to hear -especially first thing in the morning.
