Don't take it the wrong way, I was referring to majority of frog week submissions.

Ahh... I don't pay much attention to the whole week thing. I make memes for people that look for stuff that's unlike what other people are doing...

You can use it, it is just not how the first memes were made. The idea is that you should have a line at the top and at the bottom. Simpler is better, you don't want a ton of writing or punctuation because it slows the reader down and they are likely to scroll right past it. You want the reader to be able to get what you are saying in just a glance. So even if they are scrolling they can read it.

It's not really about being correct or not. It's about giving your meme the best chance to do well. I've rarely seen a viral meme with punctuation in it. If you find yourself writing a caption and think it needs a comma it's probably too long.

You can choose to use my experience or ignore it. I only point it out to help people have their memes do better...

I see your point, but I really am a "grammar Nazi". I shall take your advice into consideration for future memes, however.

I'm a "grammar Nazi" too. But I normally just take the gap between the top and bottom text as a punctuation mark. I always use question marks and occasionally exclamation marks but not commas and full stops at the end of the meme. Also, I do use commas when it comes to separating clauses. Can't forget those principles of grammar.

Dude I write for a living lol. When I first started making memes I used lower case and punctuation and got told I was an idiot basically. It was a different site back then with a lot more rules. They didn't even like people using original templates years ago. In fact using colored letters was rarely even used and frowned upon.

Memes are always evolving, I believe their history is important, the more you learn about them the better you become at making them.

You do know I was just taking the piss out of those people who create theories for the sake of it, right? And I understand what you mean. The only punctuation I use in memes is question marks, commas for clause separation, quotation marks where necessary and occasionally exclamation marks for extra emotion.

Of course correct grammar is correct.
