I quit using Google and Facebook years ago. I tried Windows 10 under the "free" upgrade. When I saw that I was forced to install updates and report everything that I did back to Microsoft, I switched to Linux Mint.

The analogy that comes to my mind regarding Microsoft's forced updates and reboots on Windows 10 is akin to when I was a kid living with my parents. Sure, everything that they gave me was free to me - but I had to do what they said, when they said.
