Have you run across any good beers lately?

They've run across my tongue. ;) Nothing that stands totally out, just a lot of good standards. Too many IPAs lately though.

Right now we're ramping up so I don't have much free time, looking like a busy summer...if you can handle one more IPA you might try Fort George Fields Of Green if you haven't already

I've not heard of that Fort George yet. I'll drink it if I do; it will probably be available at The Civic Taproom 3 minutes from work here, when I can next get down there. (I can handle good IPAs, I just wish breweries would get back to making good stouts.)

I don't drink a lot of stouts, although I had a good nitro stout last Sunday (I think it was Left Hand)

I've heard of Left Hand but not sure if I've had anything by them. I used to drink a lot more stout until it became a less popular style. Nowadays you can't walk into a bar without stumbling across a 'juicy' NE-style hazy IPA.

Josh's just up the road generally keeps 8 or so handles out of 30 IPA. Lately we've been experimenting mixing two or three beers with some good results.

That'd be mixing 'em in the stomach over a session, not in the glass?

No, actually in the glass...it started at hockey when we used a blonde to cut the very syrupy IPA they offered. Now, from time to time when there isn't one standout beer we'll experiment with generally good results (kind of a Norwegian black and tan)

Yeah, I think the last time I mixed beers outside the stomach was some black and tans back in the twentysomething days.

I've never had anything less-than-stellar from either Crux or Boneyard. It must be the water on the east side of the Cascades.

I used to drink a lot of Perfect Irishes (Guiness and Smithwick's). Crux and Boneyard are two of our favorites although it can be hard to find them on tap up here. There is one bar that has RPM on a permanent tap.

Yeah, as great of a beer as RPM is, it sometimes tends to crowd out other possibilities on tap around town. Hop Venom is my favorite beer, and I always try to grab an Armored Fist when it's available, though that usually cuts short my drinking sessions due to the strength. ;)

Had a Georgetown Citrus Galaxy which was rather nice, but the most recent beer to make the favorites list is Flintlock by Crucible Brewing out of Everett :)

Crucible Brewing is a new one to me. I'll ask the manager in my local taproom down here if she's heard of it.

It's a smaller brewery, but I think they've been around for awhile.

I checked Crucible's website, and I don't think I've had any of theirs yet. I'll definitely keep my eyes open.

Just picked up a growler of their Flintlock yesterday :)

Now I'll have to redouble my efforts as 'Crucible Flintlock' sounds REALLY familiar...

They aren't the largest brewery, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of their beer made it down your way.
