I tried it again twice and failed. But I think I know what's happening.

After deleting the meme, there is a delay before the [Image deleted] message appears in the comment section.

Also, you have to go in to view it after deleting it from the 'My Images' link instead of a comment notification link or by a simple page refresh. Both of those methods seems to use browser cache instead.

When you get a chance, would you kindly try it again, delete the meme and go back through 'My Images' after about five minutes.

Also, can you do it here, so I can observe? Please leave your finished reply below.

Thanks!

I'M NOT SAVING THIS IMAGE. JUST PUTTING IT ON TOP OF ANOTHER. | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Okay, don't delete anything here. The image you upload does not get saved into your images. here is one from my lap top that I have not saved in the website done using the "upload and stretch" method.

How do you NOT save it when you do 'Add Meme', then 'Post Comment'?

Is it in your 'All Images' area though? Where do your comment response images usually go?

When I read your messages I'll UV so you know I've read them. Plus out of gratitude - I appreciate your help!

so what you are doing is
click to add image
select up load image
stretch that image over what ever is already there
click generate meme.
Then post comment.

Something just occurred to me. Are you wanting to avoid having your meme comments in your other images? You can filter your images based upon your submitted and non-submitted. If you want to see your list of memes which have been submitted with out the clutter of comment images you can do that in the drop down box. Have I stumbled upon understanding?

Ah haah. I think that's it!

So you would still see response images if not filtering by submitted?

But I thought you were deleting, instead of filtering, no?

Yes! That is it. And if you want to see just the templates you have up loaded you click templates. Now we are on the same page!
No deleting just filtering.

** recap for clarity**
Comment images get saved in with your images. These remain unless deleted.
You can view your submitted memes by filtering via the drop down menu. To view all images again, select "all images".

Whew, mystery solved! This is why I've been responding with text-only.

One last question though. What is the advantage of stretching an uploaded image over an existing template, if they all go to the same place? Is there an advantage?

Thank you again for all of your time and help with this! :-D

As you can see, I am still a noob. Btw, tomorrow is my THREE MONTH anniversary.

But I am currently All Time Top User #165. Not too bad, I think. ;-)

Think I'll drink to that - although any excuse will do!

I noticed you were pretty high up on the top users list! Not bad at all! :)

It's just a faster way of doing it. Other wise you have to deal with up loading your image, and then searching your image before making it into a comment. The stretching way forfeits the searching part. Also this is the way to do it if you want to comment with a meme template that is not in the "popular templates" category. Just FYI. Search the template you want, then stretch it over what ever is popular, and comment. That saves you the trouble of screwing around with links.

Awesome. Thank you VERY much. Now I understand what you've been trying to tell me!

A little slow... but willing to learn. :-)

Please feel free to delete the meme, as we're done with this lesson!

You are very welcome! Glad I can be of help!

I may save it just in case someone else has questions.
