In the top ten of “seemed like a good idea at the time” awards

The book was actually pretty good.

Most movies can't live up to the books they're based on - but if you like the IDEA, I would recommend the book. It's written well and a good read. :-)

Hmm. Not much into reading science fiction anymore. Used to read a lot of short stories by Asimov and Heinlien. But I’ll check it out. :)

I tried to read everything from Asimov. Not humanly possible, but I gave it a good go.

I've switched from books to the Internet -most of my free time is spent online now.

But in my day, I've read a LOT of Niven, Brin, Baxter... almost anyone with a good imagination and a typewriter.
