Exactly, though then again they must've had less rain back then, as looking at the water cycle we need hot temperatures from the sun to have a large amount of rain and also the houses were of wood, the street were filled with flammable things.

Fair enough :) all those pretty but lousy Tudor houses... At school we once had to build mini houses and the set them all alight... Great history lesson...
Heh. We got to stand on tables and yell at each other. Another one of the History teachers has a rock that he's so protective of he lets nobody touch it. We learnt that one the hard way when someone tried to throw it (it was one large rock) at one of thee boys.
This is why they call it the Second City (because it was rebuilt). Some people had nowhere to escape and went into Lake Michigan... it was hot enough to melt the bell in a church steeple. Hundreds of people died over the three day fire.
