Puerto Rico IS America, idiot.

PR has a govt even though US commonwealth. It’s govt needs to fix the problems it created. US govt has bailed them out over and over but they never learn. Only way to teach is to hold them accountable and let them bear consequences.

Insults and curses by a person who meets someone of a different opinion are worthless. My point is Puerto Rico needs to take responsibility for its condition and change its policies before another bailout will do any good. Otherwise they will be back in the same trouble. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

I agree with what you have said, but given the current circumstances resulting from last year's disaster, emergency aid to gets things up and running is in dire need.

Whatever assistance administered should be conditional - framed within a long term budget and recovery where the PR Gov't gets its act together and reigns in the corrupt practices and waste that it gleefully played around with for years counting on the US Gov't bailing it out for the nth time. For them to think they could carry on without accountablility was ludicrous.

But DrSarcasm stated the truth about the situation with the Puerto Rican Goverment, which IS corrupt and landed itself in massive whole of debt through years of overspending and mismanagement.

I agree that given the dire emergency situation the Federal Gov't needs to do more right now, but over the long term the Gov't there needs to get it's act together. It ruined everything for everyone there on the assumption that the Fed Gov't would always bail them out.

The name calling and ill wishes on your part serve no purpose and are totally innapropriate given the respectful manner you were treated with even AFTER you hurled them.
