90% of the time, I try to match the character's facial expression to the idea and mood I'm trying to convey, without regard to who the character actually is.
There's a John Wayne template I almost used, but I felt Ms. Wiig's expression was closer to what I was looking for. It's like: "What would MY face look like if I were saying that?"
