If you don't listen to the bands like The Nice, Yes, ELP, Tull, Genesis et al, you ain't a true prog fan :-)

Emerson pre ELP, some say the original prof super group!
There's stuff of them live on Youtube.
BTW who would you recommend new style? Always on the lookout for new music too :-)

I listened to the nice, they do a cover of one of my favorite jazz tunes, blue rondo ala turk. The original is by dave brubeck who is one of my favorite jazz artist because of his use of odd time signitures. I also like return to forever, mahavishnu orchistra and jean luc ponte. For newer prog i suggest porcupine tree/steven wilson, plini, AAL, sythu aye, wydek and tesaract.

Wow, similar musical taste, Mahavishnu, John himself (saw him live with Skakti), Jean Luc, Weather Report, Jan Hammer, Stanley Clarke, Billy Cobham, went into the whole Jazz rock/fusion thing for a while. Steve Hillage also, so much incredible music. Lately "discovered" Boards of Canada and a guy called bocuma. Thanks for the tips, I will certainly check out those bands you mentioned. Sorry about the delay, been away fishing for a week.
