Amen to that. SSDs really extend the life of a computer.

If your computer isn't running fast enough, you probably need more RAM. However, neither RAM or processors are the end all be all of computer speed. For gaming, for example, you may need a better video card. Having a solid state drive does help (I'm looking into getting one, but it's a distant third behind getting a 4gb video card or an i7 processor), but rarely is an SSD going to do very much for a computer's speed.

exactly. If you're windows update is taking 3 hours instead of 10 minutes, you definitely need to upgrade your storage.

I know someone who still uses hard drives, and their windows drive is 90% full. They keep buying more external drives and internal drives for storage, yet won't shell out for an ssd to keep windows and programs on.

Clearing the C:WindowsTemp and temporary user folders (%temp%) helps, as well as clearing out the old Windows Update files through Disk Clean-Up.

They really are! I could get a 1TB hard drive for $50, but a 1TB hard drive costs some $250.
