I myself am indian and eat halal and these vegans are trying to take my culture away from me. Riding elephants, eating butter chicken, and bombil. They will never understand how much my indian heritage means to me.

I once pinned an apologetics guy to the wall on this one. He finally admitted I was right without coming out and openly admitting I was right.

Jesus shared the loaves and the fish. Jesus told His followers where to drop the nets for so many fish the boat almost sank. Jesus, being God, made certain Peter had a vision including meat on the table. And, God even fed His people with meat in the wilderness after He directed their meat filled feast prior to leaving Egypt. Then, there were God's other feasts and rules which included meat.

BTW, context is king. John 16 is in no way referring to dietary issues. Single verse doctrines are alway heresy.

Not going to repeat my discussion with him, but I preemptively answered all of those objections with the apologetics site guy, and he like you was not ready to see them taken apart. And the verse does not preclude dietary or any other thing simply because it makes you uncomfortable, Jesus left it wide open. And your single-verse objection - besides being so general it can't possibly be defensible - would deflate a great many things you claim to believe in, simply because it's not possible for every verse to have an echo everywhere else.

I'm not going to prove everything to you here for reasons I won't explain, but suffice to say you've just seen several of your certainties have the rug pulled out from other them, which should instruct you to think. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
