Colorado is a ski resort, And yes, rich Californians sometimes buy a cute cabin in the hills there so they can go skiing there during Christmas vacation.

Look, Northern Cali is beautiful, even southern SD is nice, but the part in the middle is an open cesspool. I'm not going to convince you it is, and you won't convince me it isn't. I spent some time in northern Cali a few years ago. I think there was a pier on Avila beach (old memory, don't quote me) where you could watch them through the tables at the end of the pier. They were topped with plexi and the seafood was pretty good
