Been there, seen that!
Loved being the only one on duty. Then customers start bitching at YOU, like it's your fault. Yes, I like not being able to go to the bathroom for two hours at a time. Go complain to my lead or manager if you want to complain to the person that's really responsible.
What really grinded my gears was when someone had a huge armload of stuff and plopped it down in my area and said "Watch this while I go get a few more things." A few more things could be as many as ten. I always told them 'no, go get a cart'. This was at Bass Pro Shops, I think a lot of guys thought that carts weren't macho.
Finally, I read this week that Krogers and Walmart are going to self checkout totally soon, so yeah. Glad I'm not in retail anymore.
