Yeah. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed. But he does have access to the top advisors and brightest minds in the field. You would figure we would need at least a moon base to stop and refuel for such a long manned mission. When I was in elem. school, (in the late 70’s) they taught us that in the year 2000 we would have military bases on the moon. Even had artist renderings in the books. So, if it could have been done, you can bet our military would have them by now! Or they do, and are just not telling us about it. The black budget is pretty big...

The reason it hasn't been done is because there's nothing to gain from it. If there was oil on the moon, shoot, yeh we would have a moon base. Probably a whole bunch of them.
