Butthurt & Not Agreeing With A Meme Shouldn't be The Reason You Downvote

Pretty sure most of the memes I have ever downvoted I didn't agree with. I have no idea how many downvotes it takes to get sent back to submission. It's happened to me twice and I know I deserved it both times.

If there weren't any alts and everybody had just one vote this wouldn't be an issue. Well, if everybody for sure only has one vote and you get dropped back to submission then you might have to rethink the meme idea or context.

However, knowing you can upset one person and they can kill your meme by logging into a bunch of different accounts and downvoting it. That is something that should bother all of us. No single persons opinion should be worth more votes on here than another's. Plus nobody should have to keep an opinion to themselves because they don't want somebody with multiple accounts attacking them for it.

The majority of people in this community are decent and would only downvote for a good reason. It's unfortunate some feel they can make up for a lack of social skills with alt versions of themselves online.

True... I haven't downvoted much unless the meme calls for violence or it's really blatant racism to an ethnicity. We here to make memes and laugh. Not to monitor what joke is I'm poor taste because of its curse words or poking fun @ some religion or head of state. You don't like it keep scrolling or let me know what's up. Just the hate on the meme because you disagree with it my view and or humor. Leave the censorship to dictators... this memer Murican! :p

I'm sure we all have things that make us personally want to downvote if we do. I also think some meme makers like to debate things on their memes so they use topics designed to achieve that.

Certain topics we all know can set people off, that's cool with me if somebody enjoys doing that. They just need to remember they asked for it and not cry troll when somebody disagree's with them.

Still that's all just a matter of opinion and nothing should get sent back unless it truly deserves it.

I only downvote memes that are offensive. Even if it's a racist joke, they're usually pretty fun.
If someone doesn't like a meme, why not simply ignore it? So simple...
