Who is the freer man, the fool who thinks he can live as he likes, or the wise man who chooses to do only that which is right?

Of course the fool who thinks he can do what he wants is right, as long as he belongs to the upper class - he hardly has to fear any consequences in the present western society who does not believe in reincarnation.

I respectfully disagree. I think if a person steals and gets away with it it may seem to him like he was right and did nothing wrong or that it was even good but in reality he is destroying his character and will suffer from it in someway (either eventually getting caught, eventually realizing how foolish he was and having to live with that, having bad thing happen to others and himself because of it, etc) it's going to have a negative effect on the type of person he becomes. "He who commits injustice is ever made more wretched than he who suffers it." - Plato. Beware of what you become in pursuit of what you want. Judas got the money but he hanged himself because of what he become. He became a traitor. " For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

A person may think he can eat all the candy and junk he wants but it has a negative consequence. "The man wishes for happiness but thinks the thoughts and commits the actions which lead him to certain despair." -James Allen

My response was ironic! Ther are so many people around who literally rob the poorer ones and seem to get away with it - and who cares, if they beeom an even worse person? Of course, they will have to pay at one time - but often they see the consequences onyl after a long time after they had forgotten the cause.

Not only would we bring evil upon ourselves but also others. "And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise." Luke 6:31
