As the grandson of one of its officers, I have heard all about it. Funny thing: sailing a spyship with their flag down and their transponder off in contested waters invited friendly fire by Israelis who were looking for Egyptian spyships, which had a habit of sailign with their flags down and their transponders off. Who would have thought?
