We were loading in and he had the hi-hats standing on the riser but the legs were in. I was plugging in robolights when he knocked it over and it fell right on my thumb. One in a million shot. He gave me a stupid look and said "sorry." We had promoted this show for weeks, radio spots, and were already paid so it was bad for PR to bail. So I sucked it up and played the show. Blood loss was an issue and the ER doc didn't believe what I had just done.
