There seem to be more metal concerts nowadays, at least where I'm at. And better and more esoteric bands. You'll have to move to Portland, hang out at the Tonic Lounge or the High Water Mark. :)

I have a friend who lives in a trailer park in a hitchable one of those. He IS a metalhead. However he doesn't really have to use it to get to good shows. We've been having a good run in town lately. A couple weeks ago we saw a triple bill of Bell Witch, Monarch, and Usnea. I went primarily to see Monarch - the French doom metal Monarch - and it was as good as I was expecting.
