Perhaps, at least too a point; however there are major unsolved mysteries surrounding Joseph Smith that require a closer look at the history which doesn't seem easy to completely accept or reject without careful consideration. The records show an enormous number of people that allegedly witnesses strange phenomena, not just Joseph Smith, which is why they allegedly believed he was a prophet. This just seems too much to be completely faked, although there are an enormous amount of lies and exaggerations surrounding this religion and charismatic speaking is part of it but not all

This is just one of many alleged mystical stories that seem like bunk at first, but the closer you look the more it appears that part of it might be close to the truth. However, as far as I know none of these unsolved mysteries provide as conclusive evidence as the ancient megaliths moved long distances despite experiments that prove they couldn't ahve been done that way.
