I thought of that, after I submitted it - that if most users downvote the downvote-worthy memes, the event won't be very high-profile.

Oh well, maybe not my best idea for a meme week. :-)

All my ideas.

So the goal is to have fun. Some users say they flag foreign language memes because those don't meet the submission guidelines. How does flagging fit in to the event?

OK just keep in mind, the list I gave in the meme is more of an example to help people think of ideas of what could be submitted for the event. I'm not saying all those kinds of memes necessarily should be downvoted (for example, I like cringy puns, and usually upvote them). I think upvoting and downvoting should be up to each individual user's preference (although if a meme has just come out in Latest and has 0 upvotes, I think it's good to maybe avoid downvoting it yet).

I hadn't thought about flagging with the event. I'll generally only flag a meme when I think mod intervention is required to see if the meme needs to be removed from the site (e.g. memes attacking other users or sexually explicit memes, etc).
