All you need to do is to keep trying, and see the worlds that open up to you. Because you're willing to be nice to other people, it makes all the difference.
I remember I was told when I was little that you treat people the way you want to be treated. And I try to do that, even though sometimes it doesn't seem to work, it's kind of a good way to sort out who the real friends are.
But don't let one time of it not working make you give up, because all you can do is keep trying.
