I don't rely on a single source. I use Snopes to analyze rumors and fake news while using other sites to figure out fake news.

I like to see how the Left and the Right each present a story, knowing that they will each spin it to their own benefit and the disadvantage of the other.
Then I look for the presentation of more moderate people.
If they never call out the failures of both "sides" of the isle I don't trust a word they say.
