It seems like it's not uncommon for action movies to be set over the Christmas season.

I just watched Die Hard: With a Vengeance and even though it's set in New York city in the summer, John McClane jokes about Santa and his reindeer (when he shoots the guys in the dump truck in the aqueduct tunnel).

I can't remember references in #4 and #5 offhand though.

I've never seen the 5th one. I bought the box set for my mother for Christmas so maybe we'll marathon them. I'll keep a watch for references.
