Btw, I do like hockey. Haven't really kept up with it recently. I started watching back when Gretzky play with the Oilers. Man, that team was stacked. Matter of fact, Gretzky play in Cincinnati at one time in the minors for another team. That was before I became a hockey fan. Sure would have like to seen him.

Lol that's funny you mention Gretzky. I could tell you some stories about his father Walter.
I still have a Gretzky rookie card. Out has a pinhole in it because I pinned it to my bulletin board like a stupid kid. Stupid!

Oh no, that's terrible.

I used to put cards in based wether or not I liked the look on the player's face.

I never did that as a kid. I did have some baseball card, nothing good though. I wanted a Johnny Bench card so bad, kept getting Bill Plumber the backup. I could win money with that trivia.

Ahahaha that's awesome, both the story and your spoke material!
Oh yeah all the guys did that. Constantly had to swap out cards, the didn't last long before the sound got quiet. Then one Xmas I got the box with a throttle you slipped over your handlebars. You could twist the grip and it made mad revving sounds.

I remember the grip you're talking about, I didn't have one though. I had a Big Wheel that I ran the plastic tires off of. One of my friends had a Green Machine, which I thought was badass.

I had a big wheel, they were a blast. And yes any kid with a green machine was the neighborhood badass!

Btw, I play recreational roller hockey for 4 years and ice hockey 1 year. Cincinnati isn't a hockey town, they do have a minor league team that's been around for more that 20 years. The most fun was ice hockey. It was a non-checking league. I'm not a great skater by any stretch, but I did learn to skate better just by playing. I keep saying each year I'm going ice skating. Never do it. I rollerblade every once in awhile.

That's pretty cool. I played from age 6-16, but spent countless hours in front of my buddy Scott's place playing road hockey. That scene in Wayne's World, 'Car!' Was so right! Except we played with only one net, turned 90 degrees against the curb. Didn't have to move it, just get out of the way of the car.
I found skates my size in a Salvation Army a few years ago. I should take a picture, they're old school 70's ones. I taught my daughters to skate and I go out with them every now and then. The 13 year old takes figure skating now. I can't play if I wanted to because of my back. I probably shouldn't skate at all.

Your buddy has the same name as me (hint) lol. 70's skates sound cool. I don't know if they changed to much over the years. And, that's awesome your one daughter is into figure skating. In Cincinnati, they go crazy over figure skating when a tour or a competition come through. I've been wanting to go to the Miami of Ohio Redhawks game. They are just north of Cincinnati, and they are one of the top hockey universities in the country.

Wow still trying to catch up on notifications!
Yes tonight was skating night. I took another picture of a trophy and awarded it to Jessica for spotting my typo faster than I could redo it.
We have a men's league team here in town but I don't get out to games much any more. My brother in laws buddy played for them for a few years and we used to go a lot.

That is cool as sh!t. It looks like brand new. I have Bauer ice skates and inline skates. They are so well made. The inline skates are so much better than any others I had. They were not to cheap though. You talk about your back hurting, it sure did hurt me when I played. I guess I didn't have proper form when I skated. My back would ache after a game.

Thanks man! Yeah I was just telling Jessica, they were only ten bucks and then it cost me that much to get them sharpened! When we go public skating I get the odd comment on them, not too many guys rocking 40 year old skates!

Some people probably think they're custom made. I would wear them like a boss. The all metal skate is flashy.

I'm like that, I like old things and I always have. Out of style suits me. Like my 15 year old car..

Yes so I was going to use that picture in my next comment to you, then had this idea and held back, sorry. As soon as I read it I knew what I'd do. I sometimes get ideas from comments like that. A print of this hung in my house as a kid. It creeped me out. I made it worse because I blacked the eyes out. Thanks!

More than once I've left a comment, thought about it and then submitted it. Sometimes the comment gets more upvotes than the submission, ouch. Also, I had a poster similar to the Dryden pic hanging on the outside of my bedroom door with the mask at my mom's eye level...caught her off guard more than once. :)

Lol about the poster.
I've had a few comments people have said I should submit but I almost never do. I figure they've lost thier impact. That's just me.
