You fools crack me up. The Bible talks figuratively often, and since God didn't write Genesis, all of the creation of the earth chapters of Genesis are most likely speculation from Adam and or Eve

Actually, I'm fairly certain that Genesis is one of the five books of the Torah, which Moses received directly from God. Of course, some parts of Genesis might have been passed down from Adam and Eve, but that is mere speculation as far as I can tell.

I can't 100% say what shape the earth is, as I do not know for certain (I want to do some horizon and curvature tests for myself sometime, but I don't have the time or resources for that.) I am at the very least of a geocentric opinion, and I am inclined to think that the earth is flat. I find the physics of the Copernican model to stretch the imagination a bit (how is it that we have the same constellations year after year unless those constellations are centered around us, after all?)

Ok, so responding to your first comment, the Bible still speaks figuratively and the firmament is usually just another name for the sky in the Bible. To the second, we have the same constellations year after year, but they are slowly changing. If you look closely between your choice of constellation today and that same one in the 1980s, you may be able to see a slight change. It's very difficult to see, but there is a very very slight change.

Also, stars like Polaris clearly move.

The Bible definitely speaks figuratively in many areas (Jesus used parables, after all). However, the style of Genesis does not match most cases of figurative speech in the Bible as far as I can tell (not saying it's impossible, this is just my interpretation until I get some solid evidence to back it up). As for the changing constellations, I'll have to double check that for myself. I'm fairly certain that the ancient Greeks charted out the constellations we still see up to this day (I could be wrong about that), so any changes must be very minor indeed. I would think that the level of universal motion proposed by the Copernican model would create much larger changes in a span of many thousands of years.

Ok. Go do any fact checking you need to. It's good practice. Also, in a geocentric model, day and night would be the same length.

That's only assuming that the sun would have a perfectly circular uniform path around the earth, which is not a necessary part of a geocentric model. Anyways, it has been a pleasure finding someone who can disagree respectfully :)
