There's a reason why we do not permit minors to smoke, drink, drive, carry firearms, borrow money, get married, join the military, etc., etc.
The legal age of majority may be 18 in most places, but neurologists know that the frontal lobe of the human brain (the part that is responsible for rational thought) doesn't fully develop until around age 24.
