Just bustin balls. One time I had to go to Youngsville, North Carolina for training through a job that I had. A nice Southern woman started talking to me on the flight and she knew that I was from up North as soon as I opened my mouth. I told her that my stop was in Riley. She corrected me and said that around here we pronounce it Rah leh. She stopped talking to me after that.

Really? Scuse me but what a c**t! God I hate how stereotypical some idiots are. I married a damn yankee! My German friend hated her first experience in the south because of that kinda crap! I’m sorry she was a bitch to you! I just was playing with my meme.

There was a group of six of us, mostly from Northern states. We stayed two to a room at a local hotel. Me and the other guy I shared a room with went to the hotel's bar one night to get a beer, we started flirting a little with the female bartender. After a while she said, " Ya'll are Yankees! " And walked away. Me and the other guy looked at each other and laughed. Like, no big deal.

That's how I remember the spelling for some military ranks that (in my opinion) are not spelled the way they sound. Like lieutenant, Sargeant or colonel.

The spelling may make more sense if you pronounce the "W" in the beginning as a "Double U" and not a "W". It's named after Odin, or (uu'-dens-day) just as Thursday is for Thor.
