What is the problem with believing that?

The same problem with someone believing ANYTHING that is demonstrably not true.

You wouldn't allow a child to believe in the Easter Bunny into ADULTHOOD, would you?
No!
You'd think, "What is wrong with this kid? Believing in such shit is STUPID! This kid needs some serious help!"
Well now--it's not all that different, really...it's actually worse.
Yes, I read somewhere that the parable of the rabbit with a basket full of eggs scampering from the Garden of Eden was removed from the Bible for political and marketing reasons.

Man, you have to learn to respect other people's beliefs. If they believe it, let them believe it. It doesn't affect your life if they keep believing in it, right?

"Doesn't affect my life?"
Are you SERIOUS?
Look at all the laws that are passed and how things are run and the way the world works and how many GOOD people have had their lives totally RUINED in the name of religion!
That's not to mention how many wars have been and are being fought because of religion--so don't even BEGIN to tell me it doesn't affect my life.

Technically the reason why the peoples lives are ruined by religion is either because they interpreted it wrong or are fooled by people who use it to do wrongdoins or are too stupid to actually understand it. As for the wars it's because the people are just idiots that clearly didn't read their Scripture right. In conclusion, religion is innocent and the wrong ones are the people

So you’re claiming that “they interpreted it wrong.”
Who is to say which interpretation is “right”?
There are as many “right” interpretations as there are people.
You do realize that there are 40,000 different sects of Christianity alone—and that's just ONE religion. Some of them disagree with each other to a great extent on certain issues.
They can't all be right, but they can all be wrong.
“With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil - that takes religion.”

By that I mean that some wars are caused by wrong interpretations, they think that fighting "in the name of God" is a good thing but actually they are violating another bit of their Holy Law. I respect all religion, and all good religion teach kindness and love to humans. If a religion tells people to hurt others then it shouldn't be good. And that quote has some truth in it, but that takes people to decide whether to do evil or not if they have religion. I mean there are even laws to not kill each other. But I disagree with that quote in a way, because just see that the worst people in the world don't have a religion or don't follow it thoroughly. You can see that people who follow their religious rules are good people. I'm not saying that people who don't have religion aren't good, I'm just saying that religion can help people become better people.

Hello! Didn't expect to see me again didn't you? At least we went on with our lives intead of arguing on the internet. Well, as an answer to your previous question. My answer is this: think about it. Okay, makes sense if religion didn't exist. But, I have two points. First, they could find other reasons. The reason people fight are because of differences, they won't settle until all people are the same. Second, it is literally aa human tendency to believe in something greater. In the old times, they believe big huge rocks have magic in them. So, this tendency to believe there exists a greater force has evolved into the need for a figure of this power, God (or gods). Actually, I don't wanna argue anymore. So... How about you stop making these anti-religious memes and I stop my religious ones, sound fair. Of course, if you still wnat to protest, I can answer a lot of your questions. I've learned stuff, okay? In conclusion, we have two choices, agree to disagree, or continue this obviously useless argument (since I can't change your opinion and you can't change mine).

Sounds good to me, my friend!
I don't think religion should be outlawed--I'd like to see it come to an end, but as the result of people's critical thinking skills, not because it's a law.
You know, some of the most WONDERFUL people in my life are VERY religious...and that's cool!
It isn't "Christians" I dislike, but the religion itself. Many people have a hard time separating the two.
If you do not wish to debate any further and simply agree to disagree, I can't argue with that.
It's been an interesting exchange of thoughts and ideas!

Okay...HOLD ON.
If you want me to stop making anti-religious memes, I will make no such promise.
I make whatever I feel, and if I'm feeling anti-religious when making memes, I'll do it.
Memes are my art--they're my form of expression.
If you'll notice, the visual parameters of my memes are LIGHT YEARS ahead of anything I've seen on here, so I take it very seriously (even the dopey ones), and will not have any limitations or restrictions imposed on me by anyone.
A lot are personal memes for myself or friends that don't get submitted anyway.

Sure, I agree. It's actually been kind of surprising to see other people's opinions. And it's okay if you keep makin' these memes, I just really want to mive on from arguing all day. But it's been fun, maybe I'll see you if one of your memes go to the front page. I'll be watching.

But not the creepy kind.

I'm telling you that's the person's fault, not the religion's. Where I come from, there are 6 religions, and all of them teach to be good people. The reason people hurt others with religion as their reason is that because some people are so bad that they utilize a religion that people believe in faithfully to do as a bad excuse. Also, people who use religion as a reason may be people who don't understand that the true message their religion is giving out is to care and love each other.

So it's the person's fault, granted...but had there not been religion, would the person have any reason to commit crimes in the name of it?

And you believe the universe to just be here because of chance?

I'm claiming to believe no such thing.
No one knows for sure why it's here, but there is no scientific evidence whatsoever that any "God" created it.

So the Earth was placed just the right amount of distance from the Sun, the Earth is moving at just the right speed to not plummet into the Sun, the Earth has just the right mass to keep an atmosphere, the human brain processing information around us, the fact that water is just perfect for life, and that the universe works with a set of laws that cannot be broken is because there is no God? Okay, makes sense.
0 ups, 6y
It makes PERFECT sense.
Everything becomes a product of itself – there is no way it could be otherwise!
It’s like a puddle of water being amazed at how perfectly it fits into a hole – that the hole must have been made just for it.
That line of thinking is patently absurd.
