Ha - I hit post accidently, to continue...all of those guns might not currently be in an "organized militia" but if the US were invaded by a foriegn nation I would like to think that we'd band together.
To your point about politics, yes, that will be the downfall. Whether or not our leaders disarm us or if we just start a new civil war with sides determined by race, political party, or some other silly distinction, our down fall will come from within.
