That is awesome. I spent a lot of time living on or near Marine Corps Air stations and one Air Force base in my career. Free air show everyday...and yet, some people still complain about the noise!
I had an awesome experience in South Dakota last year. I was flying out of Sioux Falls airport and as I'm driving on the highway I see these fighters in tight formations, doing maneuvers, smoke, the whole bit. I get to the airport, check in, security, etc. Come to find out, the planes were the Blue Angels practicing for the airshow coming up the next day. So, I went to the bar that had huge windows overlooking the tarmac and had the best seat in the house!
The best was when my kids were little. Two of them have special needs and went to Balboa Naval Hospital for treatment. The day before the Miramar airshow, they invited all of the kids that could come to VIP seating for the rehearsal show. When it was over the Blue Angels pilots did a meet & greet with the kids. Totally awesome.
